ABOUT

Mission

The District 1 Fire Training System accomplishes its mission by delivering traditional and progressive curriculum, skills and ideas while following Local, State and Federal codes, standards and regulations and by staffing the most qualified, certified, professional and experienced Fire and Emergency Service Instructors. The Instructors maintain an active role in the fire service to ensure their safety and improve the quality of life for those trained and the citizens of District 1 and surrounding communities.

Values

Teamwork

We work cooperatively to achieve our goals.  We recognize that each member of our team is important and essential to our success.

Accountability

We accept our organizational and individual responsibilities.  We are accountable for our actions, decisions, and performance.

Commitment

We are committed to the safety of Indiana firefighters.  We understand providing relevant and quality training and certification services enables fire departments to protect citizens in every Indiana community.

Honor

Honor is built through respect and loyalty, it means showing esprit’ de corps and caring about those around you that you would do anything for them, on or off duty.

Discipline

If you expect to become a good and respected firefighter you must dedicate yourself to training and developing your mind and body. This can only be achieved through hard work, persistence and a prescribed and orderly training regimen.
